THC And CBD

THC and CBD are two similar compounds that also differ wildly.

  • THC is short for Tetrahydrocannabinol.
  • THC is a compound found within the cannabis plant.

  • It is THC that is responsible for the euphoric and intoxicating sensation that marijuana creates.
  • THC is known as a psychoactive compound.

CBD is also a cannabis product and is often confused with THC. Let’s look at the differences

  • CBD is short for cannabidiol.
  • Legal CBD is derived from the cannabis strain Cannabis Sativa L otherwise known as industrial hemp.
  • Marijuana also has CBD in it but often not nearly as much as industrial hemp.
  • Industrial hemp has a non-detectable amount of THC within it.
  • Products that are made from industrial hemp do not create a high sensation.
  • CBD is a non-psychoactive compound.

Research has indicated that CBD may possibly be useful in the treatment of a variety of health conditions. CBD has allegedly been linked with the management of the following ailments:

The Legality Of Cannabis In The United Arab Emirates

Some places are harsher than other places when it comes to cannabis and CBD, the United Arab Emirates is one of those places. Cannabis is illegal in the United Arab Emirates. The consumption and possession of cannabis can carry very strict penalties. The smallest amount of cannabis can lead to a minimum of four years in prison.

The UAE is not a significant producer or consumer of cannabis. However, due to its free ports, it is known to be a large transshipment area for cannabis from Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Bottom Line
