What is CBD?
CBD, short of cannabidiol, is a compound derived from the cannabis plant. Specifically, the industrial hemp plant or Cannabis Sativa L. The industrial hemp plant has an extremely low level of THC.
Studies have shown promising evidence that CBD might be able to help manage conditions associated with inflammation and chronic pain.
CBD and THC
Most people are well aware of THC. THC, an acronym for tetrahydrocannabinol, is also a compound derived from the cannabis plant. However, THC is responsible for the euphoric “high” people feel when using cannabis products.
CBD is a non-psychoactive compound that does not create this effect.
