CBD Oil In Nauru

Nauru is a small, slightly obscure country in Micronesia, which is actually located just to the northeast of Australia. Despite its relatively close proximity to such a major country as Australia, most people have never even heard of Nauru, much less been there themselves. In reality, this is a very small island with few amenities. There is an airport, as that is virtually the only way to get there (unless, of course, you want to attempt sailing there).

Moreover, there isn’t much in the way of the local economy. This leaves the people who are native to the island to figure out how to make ends meet on their own. One of the ways they accomplish this is through the cultivation of cannabis.

Is Cannabis Common in Nauru?

Even though the area is exceptionally small in size, there is a rather surprising amount of cannabis grown there. For years, the majority of it was grown by those who used it for personal reasons. As a result, there were a lot of people who were growing cannabis, but each of them were growing a fairly small amount.

The island has struggled with its economy for a number of years, a problem that has only grown more severe with the passage of time. In recent times, the local government has started to ponder the idea of allowing the cultivation of cannabis as a means of boosting the economy.

Although it’s still considered illegal to grow or possess cannabis throughout the entirety of Nauru, the need for sufficient funds has prompted the government to at least consider the possibilities of exporting cannabis. It’s also caused many of the people who live there to start growing it on their own and then selling it to others in the area, something that they largely do out of necessity.

How Does It Tie In With The Culture?

Like many other places around the globe, cannabis has always been an important part of life for many in the region. Even though it’s been deemed illegal for years, the culture and history of Nauru goes back much farther than that. Cannabis has been a part of that history, ingrained into the culture so much that it would be difficult to even imagine life in the area without it.

As a result, it’s considered more of a staple there than anything. Cannabis is popular in many parts of the world but for some of the native inhabitants of Nauru, it’s a way of life.

It’s always interesting to see how others view the use of cannabis. In Nauru, it’s traditionally been used for recreational purposes but that is slowly changing. CBD isn’t routinely used in the area, mainly because the island doesn’t have a lot of contact with the outside world. Therefore, they are far more likely to grow their own cannabis and smoke it as opposed to using something that has been extracted from the crops they grow.
